Bringing in or buying out a partner
The price, the tax, the loan and the agreement all have to land in the right order.
Talk it throughMEDICAL PRACTICES
We get your accountant, lawyer and bank working to one plan through the change, so you can keep seeing patients.
Your accountant, lawyer and bank still give the advice.
We work with the people you already have.
Our fee comes from you, never from a product or a referral.
THE CHANGES WE SEE MOST
Partner changes come first.
That's where most gaps are.
The price, the tax, the loan and the agreement all have to land in the right order.
Talk it throughThe sale and your own plans rarely move on the same timeline.
Talk it throughWhen a partnership ends, clear roles and a clear order matter most.
Talk it throughAgreements, finance, premises and staffing all lean on one another.
Starting a practiceA sudden change brings new people and decisions in at once. We help put them in order.
Talk it throughWHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
Graham kept seeing
patients.
Graham, 61, is selling his 70% of a specialist practice to his partner Priya in two stages. His accountant, lawyer, bank and adviser were all doing good work. This is what sat between them.
Found: Graham's super fund owns the rooms the practice rents. Nobody had checked whether the sale triggers the lease, with three years left on it.
We did: took it to the lawyer and both sides before price talks went any further.
Found: the partnership agreement says a buyout on death or disability is "funded by insurance". There were no policies.
We did: brought in the insurance adviser, so cover is in place before anyone signs.
Found: the bank's pre-approval rested on a broker's estimate, not an independent valuation.
We did: lined up the valuer and the accountant's earnings figures, then took them to the bank before the price was set.
Each professional kept their own advice. We kept the order, and Graham didn't have to carry it between consults.
A fictional example based on situations we see. Names and details are made up.
