MEDICAL PRACTICES · SELLING OR STEPPING BACK

Ready to sell, or step back.
The sale, the tax and your retirement
all have to line up.

We get your accountant, lawyer, broker and adviser working to one plan, so the sale happens in the right order and you can keep seeing patients.

We coordinate. We don't advise.

Your accountant, lawyer and bank still give the advice.

Your professionals stay.

We work with the people you already have.

No commissions.

Our fee comes from you, never from a product or a referral.

WHO'S USUALLY INVOLVED

Seven people around the
sale. One order.

ACCOUNTANT

Clean numbers, the tax and the concessions

VALUER

What the practice is worth, separate from the sale

BROKER

Finding a buyer, if you're selling outside

LAWYER

The sale contract, the restraint and the lease transfer

BANK

The buyer's loan, and releasing your guarantees

LANDLORD

Consent to transfer the lease

FINANCIAL ADVISER

Super, retirement income and the proceeds

YOU

Deciding what the year after looks like

Each one is good at their part. Nobody is asked to keep the order. Until now, that's been you.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

Three things that catch
sellers out.

Start with the year after.
The price talk goes better.

  • The price set before the numbers are clean

Buyers pay on clean numbers, with your own pay and one-off costs taken out. Start without them and the price can drop late in the deal.

  • The tax and super sorted after you sign

The contract date can set the tax year and close the window for super contributions. It needs sorting before you sign, not before settlement.

  • Staff and patients hearing too early

News travels before the plan is ready. Agree who's told, when and by whom, and say nothing until it's signed.

WHAT STAYS WITH YOUR PEOPLE

Your people do the work. We keep the order.

We don't value the practice, find buyers, give advice, write the contracts or tell you what price to accept.

We act for you, the seller. The buyer has their own advisers.

BEYOND THE PRACTICE

What it means at home.

Selling changes more than the practice. We'll point out what it touches, so your adviser, accountant and lawyer can sort it at the right time.

Not sure if you need us?

A short walkthrough will tell you.

You'll leave with a clear view of what needs to happen, and in what order. If your accountant can handle it, we'll say so.

FOR ACCOUNTANTS, ADVISERS AND BANKERS

You give the advice.
We run the sequence.

We don't replace you. We make sure your work connects to everything else happening around your client. Your client stays your client.
